Hound and her Riolu Chapter 7

After an uneasy night, Hound slowly woke, the morning sun in her eyes. The pillow seemed damp, and her face was still wet. Had she been crying in her sleep also? She carefully slipped out of the bed and crept toward the window.

The morning sun rested just above the calm waters, giving a golden glow to the gentle ripples. To Hound, it was that moment in life when you catch nature at the  highlight of the performance. She wasn't sure how long she spent gazing out the window, admiring the view, but it must have been for some time.

"Ray?" (You okay?) Shinx whispered, starling Hound nonetheless. She nodded and pointed out the window.

"Look," She whispered. "It's not often I get to catch a view such as this." Shinx didn't reply. He knew Hound well enough not to do so. It was clear she was trying to absorb the view into her memory. The two watched the sunrise for some time, just happy to be in each other's presence. When Ness and Topaz woke up shortly after, they too enjoyed the view.

After some time, a gentle knock on the door alerted the group that breakfast was waiting. Being clever, Hound had asked for breakfast to be delivered to her room, where she could enjoy it in peace, and stay in her pyjamas. She opened the door, to be greeted by a man with a waiter's trolley in a Waiter's suit with a  Chatot perched on his shoulder.

"Breakfast, madam." He said, elegantly handing Hound the tray.

"Bonne appetit!" The Chatot squaked, before the waiter continued down the hall. Hound giggled as she kicked the door shut. Attempting to hold the tray with one hand like a waitress,  before almost stumbling over her slippers. Despite this, the tray flew forward and was going to make a lovely mess on the floor.

"Swampa Pert?" (Ya not hungry, Hound?) D'Von laughed as he caught the tray with ease. "Pert Per, Swam Awamp!" (If so, we'll gladly eat it for ya!) At this, he made to drink her orange juice, before Hound snatched it out of his hands, questioned how he got out, and shooed him aside where the others were sitting alongside the bed.

"All right everyone!" Hound cheered. "Breakfast!" She let out the remaining team, told them that it was far earlier than it actually was, before splitting the food between everyone. The group merrily dug in. The food was splendid, as all the guests to the morning feast ate as much as they possibly could. Once Hound had grabbed another roll, she clambered to the top of her bed, where she watched Torchy and Ness fight over another roll, before D'Von split it in half.

"Kina?!" (What?!) Torchy yelled when he saw that he got the smaller half of the roll. D'Von just shrugged. "Blaza Ka!!" (I got it first!!)

"Swampa Pamper." (Not my fault I'm no math whizz.) Was the reply D'Von gave. Hound laughed to herself. D'Von had once attempted her math homework. She ended up having to give in a note saying that her homework had been soaked by a curious Swampert!! As Hound broke apart her roll, she felt something climbing up her legs. She leaned forward to see that she was being invaded by a little purple blob!

"Kaa..." The little purple blob looked up at Hound innocently. Hound smiled and picked up Ka, placing the baby Kangashkan beside her. She tore a little piece off her roll and handed it to Ka, who gave out a little squeak of joy. After that, the group managed to calm down and eat breakfast.

However, a little while later, there was  chaos!

"Sia." (No.) Topaz stated firmly as he stretched on the couch.

"Ray, Ray..." (But, but....) Shinx whimpered, pawing the Persian

"Sia!" (No!) Topaz repeated. Shinx attempted puppy dog eyes, as Topaz shook his head. "Peris Sian Si?" (Do I look like the type who would resort to that manner?) Shinx paused, before nodding. Topaz hissed and swiped at Shinx, before closing his eyes. Shinx, realising Topaz wasn't going to help, bounced onto Hound's bed.

"Heya Shinx!" Hound laughed, ruffling the Luxray's mane. "Are you causing mayhem again?" Shinx shook his mane and slumped in front of her.

"Lua Raya RuxLay." (I only wanted to catch fish.) Shinx huffed. "Ray Ray Lu? Luxa Ran."  (Remember we saw the fishers? I wanna try.) Hound smiled weakly and patted Shinx again.

"Have you asked D'Von?" Shinx paused, before shaking his head. "Y'know, he swims really well and is a good fisher too!" As soon as she said that, the Luxray's eyes lit up as he jumped of the bed again and darted over to D'Von. After a few seconds, the duo came over to her.

"Luxa Ray Ray Lunax?" (We're gonna go fish, okay?) Shinx said, excited as a child.

"Okay, okay! Two conditions, though!" Shinx froze. Usually this meant having to do something really silly, like wearing a banana peel on his mane, or Hound tying string around his muzzle. He watched, a little nervous, as Hound pulled out something out of her bag.

"First, see if anyone else wants to go. Second, wear this, okay?" She leaned forward and put on a collar, which had a colour similar to ruby. "Just in case anyone tries to steal you."

"Ray, Luxray Lu?" (But, what about D'Von?) D'Von smirked and pointed to his necklace.

"Everyone but you has something to tell them apart from other Pokemon of the same species. Topaz's black collar, D'Von's necklace, Ness looks more mature than other Pidgeys,  Torchy has a bangle, which is fire proof, and Ka'an has blue on the tip on her ears, which I blame a painting accident for. As for you, you have nothing. I don't want you to be stolen away on me!" She ruffled the Luxray's mane, before Shinx jumped off the bed and went to ask the others if wanted to join them for a spot of fishing.
